- An online application
- An unofficial transcript
- Two confidential letters of recommendation (at least one from a faculty member)
- 1-page Curriculum Vitae
- Personal Statement limited to 500 words
Recommendations
Two recommendation letters are required, one of which must be from a faculty member. The other can be from an instructor, graduate TA, RA/RLC, coach or someone else who can speak to a student's strengths. The recommender will then be emailed directly and asked to submit their recommendation into the online system. Recommendations are due on April 15th, along with your application.
Transcript
Students need to submit an unofficial transcript at time of application. If an award is offered, you will be asked to have an official transcript mailed in a sealed envelope from the records office at your college or university.
Applications are judged on the following criteria:
- Must be a veteran
- Ability to dedicate 10 weeks to developing skills in bioengineering and synthetic biology
- Student has a strong desire to enter research and has an interest in the field of biology
Awards will be announced on April 15th. Students will receive e-mail notification of the outcome of their applications and instructions and forms required to accept the award.
